Designed and curated by Narineh Mirzaeian, the exhibit features forty 5'x7' photographs printed as translucent screens and suspended from an intricate tensile network. Expressly grouped and choreographed, the arrayed field of images frame strategic perspectives that are meant to invoke the world depicted, directing one through a visual and emotional progression conveying each subject's intimate story. Multimedia projection screens interspersed among the still images add an element of further discovery as the viewer comes upon images in the suspended field which are moving and alive. Exhibit-goers navigate this exhibit intimately, view the photographs from a 360 degree vantage point, and get up close and personal. The immersive experience generated by an unconventional presentation of photography, blurs the distinction between viewer and content, allowing the audience a deeper, more nuanced understanding of the issues presented.
